We get asked this probably three or four times a week. Someone comes in, picks up the rosemary oil, puts it back, grabs the castor oil, reads the back of it, puts that down too. It's a whole thing. The bottles don't really help either because they
all kind of say the same stuff.
Here's what we actually know.
Treatment Oil vs Pure Oil Real Quick
Pure oils are one ingredient. Just lavender. Just peppermint. That's the whole bottle.
Treatment oils are blended already, like rosemary with peppermint together, or castor with biotin in it. Someone already did the mixing. Neither one is better, they just do different things.
For Hair Growth
Rosemary first. It went viral on TikTok but there's an actual study that put it up against minoxidil and it held up. Nobody includes that part in their before and afters for some reason.
Difeel Rosemary & Mint Oil in our opinion is among the best treatment hair oil for hair growth. It pairs the rosemary with peppermint which also does something for blood flow to the scalp. Just use it consistently. We've had customers come back saying it didn't work and when we ask how long they used it... two weeks. Give it a few months at least.
Difeel Biotin Oil is less about new growth and more about keeping what's already growing from breaking off. A lot of people think their hair isn't growing when really it's just snapping. Different problem. Biotin Hair Oil Tube is $1.99.
Jamaican Black Castor Oil is its own conversation. Heavy, smells like castor oil, not for everyone. The thickness results are real though. Difeel Jamaican Black Castor Oil for the full size, VIA Natural Black Castor Oil Tube for two dollars if you're not sure yet.
Dry or Damaged
Quick thing that actually matters: some oils get into the hair shaft and some just coat the outside. If your hair is dry from the inside out, coating it isn't doing anything.
VIA Natural Avocado Oil Tube gets in. $1.99 and genuinely one of the most underrated things we sell, your hair actually feels different after, not just looks it.
VIA Natural Olive Oil Tube is similar, good for pre-wash.
Difeel Argan Oil is more of a finisher, after washing, small amount on damp hair. Good for fine hair because it's light.
Difeel Vitamin E Oil is specifically for a tight, irritated scalp that keeps flaking. People treat that like a moisture issue when it's usually a barrier issue, and that's why nothing helps. This one actually targets the barrier.
Scalp Issues
Difeel Tea Tree Oil is antifungal. Recurring dandruff is usually fungal, which is why people try shampoo after shampoo and nothing works long term. Tea tree goes after the cause. It's strong, start with less than you think.
Difeel Peppermint Oil for regular use. Well's Oil 100% Pure Peppermint Oil if you want just the straight oil with nothing added.
Fine Hair
VIA Natural Jojoba Oil Tube. Almost always the answer. It's technically a wax not an oil so it absorbs instead of sitting on top. The texture surprises people every time.
VIA Natural Grape Seed Oil Tube is good too. No scent, gone fast, doesn't mess with anything else.
Some Others Worth Knowing
Difeel Batana Oil — honestly we weren't sure about this one at first either. It's from the American palm tree and people in Honduras have been using it on their hair for a really long time, it's just new to us here in the states. The smell throws people off, it's earthy and it lingers, and yeah, some people open it in the store and put it straight back down. But then we have regulars who buy it on repeat and swear their hair got thicker, so we keep stocking it.
VIA Natural Hemp Seed Oil Tube is the one we wish more people asked about. Your scalp is inflamed and reactive and nothing agrees with it? This is usually what we reach for. Packed with omegas, calms things down, and it's two dollars so there's really no reason not to try it.
Well's Oil 100% Pure Lavender Oil is nice at night. There's research on it for hair growth separate from all the calming stuff it's usually known for. Easy to add in.
VIA Natural Cocoa Butter Oil Tube if your ends specifically need sealing.
